Rebecca occupies the space between education, activism and the arts. They believe that theatre, performance and creative writing hold the potential to confront the political, social and cultural oppression of marginalised individuals and communities. These practices document, evidence and represent historical and contemporary experiences of oppression, together with the feelings embedded in these experiences.
Creative facilitation through theatre, performance and creative writing allows us to understand and empathise with the experiences of others, identify structures of oppression, and have uncomfortable conversations about our participation in such structures, as organisations and as individuals. Together, we can work against oppression, discrimination and marginalisation as allies rather than adversaries.
Rebecca has worked in educational, community and business settings, such as Spotlight Youth Arts, the Arcola Theatre and M&C Saatchi Group.
